At Armadale Education Support Centre we offer facilities with state of the art equipment.
The Independent Living Centre was refurbished in March 2017. It boasts an industrial kitchen with stainless steel bench tops, a commercial fridge, freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, oven and stove as well as workbench spaces for students. Life skills such as cooking, and meal preparation are taught in conjunction with the ASDAN literacy and numeracy programs. The pantry is well stocked to cater to all cooking and baking requirements. The Kitchen Coordinator organises and maintains the kitchen providing an organised learning environment for cooking classes. Our Independent Living room is available for use during recess, lunch and other social events.
Gymnasium – Sensory Room
Our fully equipped Gym is mainly used for physical education and therapy sessions , but also open to students during recess and lunch. The Sensory Room is designed with the aim of desensitizing and deescalating students in a functional age appropriate way. The room has a range of equipment including treadmills, exercise bikes, recumbent bikes, cross trainers, weighted leg machine, rowers and a functional cable station. Using the different equipment available in the gym allows students to increase their coordination skill and flexibility besides being physically active. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the gym act as a great platform for student to interact and socialise with their peers. Students are able to develop specific social skills such as teamwork, good sportsmanship, and learning and following rules.
